Everywhere is Home

Luke Redfield is a poet, philosopher and musician on the cutting edge of conscious songwriting. Born 1983 in Duluth, MN, he was raised on the culturally-diverse music of his homeland ― Bob Dylan, Prince, The Replacements ― before taking up a drifter's lifestyle in his early twenties.
Wandering the U.S. and Europe as a self-inquiring nomad, Luke often sang for his supper and slept on the floors of compassionate strangers. During a stint in Alaska, he kept his living quarters
in a seven-by-seven foot "birdhouse," with just a few books, clothes and guitar as his only possessions. This simple, contemplative approach to life has led to profound experiences along the
journey. In Nashville, he was put up in a mansion next to Jack White's house and treated to a backstage pass at the Grand Ole Opry. Conversely, a desolate situation in San Francisco forced him to
sell his rusty car and bicycle so he could afford food and a ticket home to Minnesota ― where he would begin work on his debut studio LP,
"Ephemeral Eon."
Integrating his folk roots with electric alt-country and free-spirited rock and roll, "Eon" comes off introspective and literate, paying homage to its psychedelic and beatnik influences, while
finding kindred spirits in contemporaries like Josh Ritter, Sam Beam, and Edward Sharpe. Recorded by Jason Orris (Golden Smog) and mixed by Tom Herbers (Low), the atmospheric backdrop to
Redfield's existential wanderlust comes courtesy guitarist, Jeremy Ylvisaker (Andrew Bird); drummer, JT Bates (Greg Brown); and the harmonious Haley Bonar. Since its release in March 2010, it has
received positive reviews regionally (Star Tribune, VolumeOne), nationally (San Diego Reader) and internationally (AltCountryForum.NL). It is receiving airplay on Cities 97 (Clear Channel), 89.3
The Current (MPR), Radio K (College Radio), and other stations throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.
While in Minneapolis, Redfield performs at its finest venues, including the Varsity Theater, Fine Line Music Cafe, First Avenue, and the Minnesota State Fair. Touring the states and abroad,
Redfield has shared the stage and collaborated with the likes of Gregory Alan Isakov, Ke$ha, Eyedea, Haley Bonar, Nick Harper, The Tiny, Kathleen Haskard, Chris Koza, Roma di Luna, The Pines, and
members of Sound Team, Happy Apple, Gayngs, and Andrew Bird's band.
A wonderful new EP release and U.S. tour await Redfield and his fans in 2011.
